Switzerland meanwhile is eliminated after losing to Argentina 3-1. Mac Allister gave the reigning champions the lead only ten minutes into the game, heading the ball past Gregor Kobel off a Leo Messi cross. Switzerland gained in momentum, culminating in an equalizer from Dan Ndoye. But that goal was quickly overshadowed after Embolo was handed a second yellow for diving and was sent off. That obviously made the challenge even greater for Switzerland, but la Nati defended valiantly one man down, dragging Argentina into extra time. In the end though, Julian Alvarez scored a stunning goal curled in from outside the box. As Switzerland pushed for a second leveller, they were caught on the counter, and suffered a third and final goal at the hands of an unconvincing Argentinian side…
