President Donald Trump posted an AI-generated picture of his face alongside the faces of the four presidents on Mount Rushmore.

Trump posted this image on his Truth Social platform, which shows him alongside former United States Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln, whose faces are carved into 60-foot-tall sculptures on the South Dakota monument. The president shared this image without any accompanying comment in the caption.

The idea of including Trump on Mount Rushmore has been spreading for years.

During a 2018 meeting, he told then-South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) that it was his “dream” to have his face carved into the monument.

Later, he publicly promoted the idea, claiming that his administration’s accomplishments justified such recognition.

The president also proposed adding his face to the monument during a 2020 speech.

The idea has also gotten encouragement from senior Trump administration officials. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum has indicated that the monument may have enough space to accommodate another president’s face.

In March 2025, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Florida) introduced a bill that, if passed, would add Trump’s face to Mount Rushmore.

“I’ve officially introduced legislation to put President Trump’s face on Mount Rushmore,” Luna wrote in an X post. “His remarkable accomplishments for our country and the success he will continue to deliver deserve the highest recognition and honor on this iconic national monument. Let’s get carving!”

She also said in a press release that Trump’s “bold leadership and steadfast dedication to America’s greatness have cemented his place in history.”

“Mount Rushmore, a timeless symbol of our nation’s freedom and strength, deserves to reflect his legacy – a legacy further solidified by the powerful start to his second term,” she added.

In recent weeks, Trump has been spending hours on social media, adding hundreds of memes and posts attacking his perceived enemies.
