France’s Léon Marchand won the 200-meter butterfly final on Saturday at the European Swimming Championships in Paris, setting the world’s best time of the year to claim his first European title.

Two years after his achievements at the Paris Olympics, the Toulouse native won in style with a time of 1 minute 51.72 seconds, well ahead of Hungary’s Richard Marton (1 minute 54.06 seconds) and Greece’s Apostolos Siskos (1 minute 54.13 seconds).
