Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Physiology/Medicine 2027

The 76th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Physiology/Medicine will be held from 27 June to 2 July 2027.

Nobel Laureates in Physiology/Medicine and about 600 highly talented young scientists will get the chance to join a unique week of scientific exchange, inspiration, and networking through lectures, panel discussions, and small-scale discussion sessions.

Selection criteria

The call for applications is open to current MSCA fellows, whose grant should be still running at the time of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting (2 July 2027), including doctoral candidates and postdoctoral scientists at an early career stage (i.e. up to 5 years of postdoctoral experience), not yet holding an independent group leader position.

Secure your own funding

Neither the European Commission nor the Lindau Nobel Laureate Committee is offering financial support to travel or fees for the event, only the opportunity to attend.

Applicants must ensure that they have the funding necessary to meet their own share of the costs of the event. This will amount to €1.250 (attendance, accommodation and meals). Your organisation and/or your MSCA project must cover this, plus travel costs.

We recommend getting confirmation from your organisation early on (March/April 2027) that these costs will be covered.

Please note that if you’re selected but not able to meet the participation costs, your place will be lost and no other MSCA fellow will be able to benefit from the opportunity.

How to apply

Applying for a nomination from MSCA to attend the Lindau meeting takes place in two steps. More information on the process and the selection criteria can be found on Lindau’s website.

First stage

Submit your application via the application form. You’ll need to include the following:

  • a limited amount of personal information. Please consult the privacy statement at the end of the form for more information.
  • a statement of motivation (maximum 250 words) explaining briefly why you think participating will be beneficial for you, your research, your career, and your organisation (if relevant).
  • two individual letters of recommendation in English (roughly one A4 page each) in a PDF file, which should
    • include a description of your achievements
    • be written by a person who knows you well, e.g. supervisor of the Master or PhD thesis
  • your recent CV (maximum 4 pages) in a PDF file

Send all parts of your application to the European Commission by Sunday, 4 October 2026 13:00, CEST, via the dedicated form. For any questions, please write to EAC-MSCA-LINDAU@ec.europa.eu.

The European Commission will make recommendations to the Lindau Selection Committee around mid-October 2026.

Second stage

The Lindau Selection Committee will ask candidates who are supported by the European Commission to complete their profiles by the end of November 2026.

The Committee will take final selection decisions by mid-March 2027, allowing sufficient time for travel arrangements to be made.
